Donny is a person of resilience. He grew up on his own and always likes to do his best to do things himself. Most of his life was filled with him trying to push through. He was very active and just overall has always been a pretty happy person. He has experienced ups and downs and was a great friend to those he was friends with. But he also has changed a lot, physically and mentally, throughout high school.

Freshman year to now has been such a drastic change. He used to dress in skinny jeans with a side part and lots of visible acne. There was a running joke that he looked like Jeepers Creepers. Apart from looks, he was very, very, very timid. He couldn’t speak to people for the life of him. But he grew, especially with wrestling. He found a new confidence and also made the effort to look better and just become a better individual. This led him to have better discipline than before and made him want to succeed in the future. There was a quote in the room he often referred to that all us wrestlers do. “Once you wrestle, everything in life is easy.” He went from wanting to be an electrician to an electrical engineer. He knew that he shouldn’t stop for mediocrity but do the best to be the best. Because throughout adversity, you will find that there is a certain joy in working for what you want. One thing that I took away from him was to always push through; he is a man of resilience and sheer will. Once you start something, it’s just a push so you can finish.
