To refuse awards is another way of accepting them with more noise than is normal.

Grammy awards are presented to singers to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry.

This event took place in Arena in Los Angeles on the 4th of February. The oldest Grammy award dates back to May 4th, 1959 (64 years ago). It was known as the Gramophone Awards.

Who was at the Grammys?

Famous people who were present at the Grammys are Christina Aguilera, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Kacey Musgraves, Maluma, Taylor Tomlinson. Singers who were present at the awards were Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, 21 Savage, Ayra Starr, SZA, Celine Dion, Jay-Z, Burna Boy and many more. One of the reasons why this article should be written is to tell the audience how far these amazing singers have come.

What did people think about the Grammys?

The first question asked was what do you think about this year’s Grammy’s? Sheyla said, “I didn’t get to see the Grammy Awards but I like how Taylor Swift has the most Grammy’s.” Another student, Adamaris Gutierrez said, “I didn’t know much about the event but there were a couple people that she knew there.” Chisom Ofojebe said, “I wanted Ayra Starr and Doja Cat to win but they didn’t win so it was not fun”.

The second question asked was did you predict any singers winning a Grammy?  Sheyla said, “I predicted Taylor winning album of the year. On the other hand, Adamaris Gutierrez said, “Taylor Swift because she always wins a Grammy.” Chisom O said, “Taylor Swift”.

The third question asked was did your favorite singer win or get nominated? Sheyla said, “ Billie Eilish” Adamaris G said, “Laufey her favorite singer got nominated and won a Grammy named Traditional Pop Vocal Album and also, SZA her favorite singer won and got nominated”. Along the same lines, Chisom O said, “SZA, her favorite singer, won and got nominated”.

The fourth question asked was were you sad that your favorite singer didn’t win? Sheyla said, “No” Adamaris G said, “I felt bad for Lana Del Ray. She had a good album but lost against Taylor Swift.” Another student, Chisom O said, “I was sad but not that sad.”

The fifth question asked was what is your favorite nominees song of all time? Sheyla said, “Flowers by Miley Cyrus”. Adamarias G said, “Metamodernity by Vansire”. Chisom O said, “Rush by Ayra Starr ”.

The sixth question was asked what do you like about your favorite singer? Sheyla said, “Miley Cyrus because many people can relate to her songs and hear what she has gone through. Adamarias G said, “I like how Laufey is very down to earth and connects to her fans”. Chisom O said, “I like Ayra Starr’s voice and like how she is from her native country.”

What we saw at the Grammys

One of the most interesting things that we saw and wanted to share with you is how Taylor Swift was attacked on Tiktok, Instagram, and Twitter for what Celine Dion’s fans saw as “Disrespect” as Taylor didn’t acknowledge her at all and took the Grammy from her with no eye contact at all.

Many people across the internet view this as a way of Taylor being rude because it is very important to acknowledge others who present you your Grammy and on top of that Celine has an illness which makes people think that it was stressful for her. Taylor and Celine took a picture to address the matter backstage to show that there was no bad blood between them she was just caught in the moment and forgot.

One of the most important things that stood out to us as people who watched the Grammys at home was how female singers walked up on the stage to receive their Grammy’s but no males.

Does this mean anything at all, does it symbolize something?

Does this mean female singers are much better than male?

Do fans love female singers more than male?

One can think like that but in this case, we just think female singers are much more enjoyable than male and others have their opinions and we respect that.

Side Note- We would like our readers to be pleased about the winners that won, not everyone has to like a particular person at the end of the day, it’s all just entertainment that happens and goes away.
