Since the 1967 war, Palestine and Israel have been fighting over territory. Due to this it has sparked up tension between them. On October 7th, 2023, the pressure broke as an attack on Israel led by the Palestinian militant group Hamas was carried out. Hamas attacked by firing thousands of rockets the morning of October 7th striking targets such as Tel Aviv and the outskirts of Jerusalem. But what was Hamas’ final breaking point? Hamas’ reason for their attack was to free Palestinian prisoners and stop Israeli aggression on the al-asque mosque.
After this attack, Israel responded by sending barrages of airstrikes toward Gaza governed by Hamas. Israel’s attack has taken a significant toll on the Gaza Strip as it has ended the lives of thousands, and the death toll is predicted to continue to rise as the days go by. Statistics say that every 15 minutes a Palestinian child dies. Following this logic this would mean that every four hours, 100 Gazan children are murdered a day.
This war is incredibly sad and tragic. No person should ever have to go through a war. Especially the innocent families in Gaza who have done nothing wrong, and yet they are the ones who are being affected the most.

Yes, I agree with the author because what’s happening in Gaza with hundreds of children being murdered is not humane. For instance, Xavier Estrada “Statistics say that every 15 minutes a Palestinian child dies. Following this logic this would mean that every four hours, 100 Gazan children are murdered a day”. This is disturbing because that is insane how people who are not even involved in the war are the ones who are the most affected. The authors uses children being murdered by the hundreds each day as a way to show the cruelty of how the hatred of humans for each other can have a bigger impact on the people around them. To sum up, what is going on in Gaza is a human atrocity because we should have learned from history that killing innocent people should be charged instead of being supported by the government as the US is aiding Israel.

This article is important because it brings awareness to a war that is claiming many lives. For example, Estrada describes , “ Especially the innocent families in Gaza who have done nothing wrong, and yet they are the ones who are being affected the most.” This shows how badly the innocent people of Gaza are being killed or hurt and I feel that this quote is incredibly sad and no one should suffer for another person’s problem. The author seems to want to bring light and expose Israel. In summary, this article is important because it brings light to the war going on between Israel and Palestine and the many lives it is claiming.
