At South El Monte High School, parent volunteers are an essential part of the school’s success. This month, the school proudly recognizes Vianeth Tellez as the Parent Volunteer of the Month for her dedication, hard work, and commitment to supporting students, staff, and the school community.
For Vianeth, volunteering is more than just giving her time—it’s about making connections and being involved in her children’s education. “Volunteering is very important. It gives a whole outlook and allows me to connect with other people and experiences,” she shared.
As a mother, Vianeth is deeply committed to her children’s success, which is what initially motivated her to get involved. “As a parent, I want what’s best for my kids and want them to do well in their education. Volunteering at their school helps me stay connected with staff, the school community, and my children’s learning,” she explained.
Vianeth’s son, Willian Ceron, is a student at South El Monte High School, where he is actively involved in sports and academics. “My son Willian Ceron plays soccer and is part of the Rio Hondo College program,” she said proudly.
Her volunteer work extends far beyond just a few hours a week. Vianeth helps with lunch supervision, special events, and school committees. She also chaperones at least two field trips per year and participates in monthly parenting meetings at both the school and district levels. “Each week, I spend a few hours volunteering at each of my kids’ schools, where I help out other volunteers and staff. Plus, I serve on two committees and make time for special events,” she said.
When she’s not volunteering, Vianeth is a stay-at-home mom who focuses on supporting her children’s education in any way she can. She encourages other parents to get involved, knowing the impact it can have. “Parent participation has such a big impact. Volunteering helps you learn new skills and gives you opportunities to experience new adventures,” she advised.
South El Monte High School is grateful for dedicated parents like Vianeth Tellez, whose hard work and commitment make a difference in the lives of students and staff. The school community thanks her for all that she does!
