If he’s a freshman on varsity, he must be something special. This is the case of Fabricio Ocampo. Our South El Monte Junior Varsity Soccer Captain Fabricio Ocampo never disappoints in showing off a scoring masterclass. He is the top goal scorer in the CIF Southern Section and is our top Mission Valley League goal scorer averaging 2 goals per game with 43 goals in the League so far and it is not over.
Fabricio always responds and performs when his team needs him and always puts soccer and his teammates first. His passion and determination make him the best on the field most notably in a recent game against Arroyo. The knights were undefeated until they faced Fabricio and the South El Monte Eagles. Fabricio scored a stunning 5 goals against the Mission Valley league leaders. He couldn’t do it on his own, but he trusted his teammates to help him as well.
Out of the field, Fabricio lives a very typical teenage life. He enjoys watching TV and thrifting whenever he gets the chance and also enjoys spending time with his family who he describes as being “adventurous and loving”. Fabricio’s family is very special to him as they support him every day especially when showing up to his games. His parents have always been there for him and always push him to do his best and seeing them in the bleachers watching him play every week means the world to him.
Fabricio started playing the sport at the age of 6 and would quickly fall in love with soccer. Over the years he found soccer as a getaway from the outside world that would also teach him about life. Soccer has taught him how to stay disciplined and always have a good attitude and this truly resembles to the quality of a player that he is. His determination and character truly makes him one of the best athletes to ever step foot on our South El Monte field.
