Seniors, your year is here, after years of hard work finally taking the step to adulthood. Let’s see what Seniors are ready to jump into college, where they have been accepted, and what they hope to do in the future.
Carissma Bucio is a senior here and she has been accepted to the University of La Verne to study science and criminology this upcoming fall. Carissma has been hoping to go to the University of La Verne since her sophomore year. She has an interest in serial killers and the way their minds work, and the University of La Verne has a lot of programs that let you into the psyche of a serial killer. Carissma states “I am unsure where I will take this, but I have interests in forensics for the future, I plan to just focus on my college life study and take things slow.” Carissma is an excellent student at South El Monte she will excel anywhere.
I also had the opportunity to speak with Sabrina Macias; she was accepted to San Marcos and Cal State Fullerton for nursing. Sabrina decided to leap San Diego. I asked Sabrina about her future and she replied “Going into nursing I want to be a registered nurse. I feel it opens up a major amount of opportunities.” Sabrina knows what she plans to do in the future. Sabrina has loved the idea of San Diego and now her dream will become reality plus the cramming for midterms and finals.
Nearing the end of our high school days we are being accepted somewhere new. South El Monte has been our home now we move on to our future. We will always be able to come back to
South El Monte and watch football games and check on teachers. Seniors are now to finish their story on their own terms, to rise above, and to reach the ultimate goal of self-belief and success. Congratulations to Seniors being accepted for this upcoming fall farewell.
