“I found the team’s biggest obstacle to success was that it did not have a home”. Steve Ballmer, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers said. The team’s new arena “will help” the Clippers if their crowd team can “really get into it and give ’em energy.” CBS’ Jon Wertheim noted Ballmer. The Los Angeles Clippers have a new home in Inglewood called Intuit Dome. The Intuit Dome was built to give the Clippers a home arena and to create a fan experience that feels like watching a game at home. The Clippers owner built the stadium mainly for Clippers fans because they originally shared a stadium called Crypto with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Intuit Dome cost $2 billion to build. They built a section for die-hard Clippers fans to watch the game call the wall.
I asked a few Clippers fans what they thought about the new Stadium. One fan, Gabriel Fuentes, said, “I think that the stadium is cool and has a lot of technology in it”.Another fan, Robert Ramirez stated, “I like how the team has their own stadium to call home and it makes the home game feel like we are at home.” The last fan I interviewed was Ariana Lopez said,” I like how they have a section only for Clipper fans I think that was a good idea
Here is what some of the players had to say about the new stadium. Kevin Durant from The Phoenix Sun said, “Baffled by “The Wall” but praised the arena’s construction and hinted that it could be a problem for opponents.” A Clipper’splayer, James Harden stated, “Excited about the new arena and the fans, and believes the team has the pieces to win a lot of games.” Also, the owner of the Clippers had this to say about the stadium, “I Spent a lot of time designing the arena, including the number of toilets, leg space, and width of entrance doors.”
The Intuit Dome is designed to create an intimate experience for fans, with seating up to 45 feet closer to the action than in traditional arenas. The arena also features the Halo Board, a nearly acre-sized double-sided video screen that encircles the entire arena. The Intuit Dome is a net-zero stadium powered by solar panels on the roof. The arena also uses less energy for cooling through natural acclimatization.
The new stadium has jerseys from every California high school on the wall. Such as our very own South El Monte High School. The number that is hung is number 4 the following people have worn his jersey such as Andre Herrera, Jimmy Saucedo, Anthony Jimenez, Raymond Valencia, Jacob Veliz, Juan Lucero, Devin Orteg, and Elijah Lopez. These are some of our athletes who wore the number 4 and have the honor of having their jerseys hung up in an NBA stadium just like when an NBA player retires.
Some jerseys came from athletes who played basketball in high school and now do not do sports, such as the following people, One notable jersey is number 15 from Harvard Westlake High School the person who used to wear it is a World Series Champion and current Dodger Jack Flaherty. Another interesting jersey is 34 for Gilroy High School the person who wore it was an NLF quarterback named Jeff Garcia. NLF player Keyshawn Johnson has his high school basketball jersey on the wall. The high school he went to was Dorsey High School. Another high school jersey I found interesting was Tesoro the number is 32 the person who wore the number is Cole Custer who won the 2023 Xfinity series. Clipper fans be very excited this season 2024-2025.
A current player on the Clippers named James Harden, has his high school jersey number hung up on the stadium wall, which was number one. The school he went to was Artesia High School. They also have a former Clipper Russell Westbrook. The high school he went to was Leuzinger High School and the number he wore was number 0. Another Clipper player that has their high school jersey hung up is Kawhi Leonard who went to Martin Luther King High School and he wore the number 2.
