Mike Tyson, a boxing legend at age 58, comes out of retirement to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul at age 27. Jake Paul’s boxing record is 10 wins and 1 loss. Mike Tyson’s record is 50 wins, 6 losses, and 2 no-contests. The titles that Mike Tyson held in his career are WBC, WBA, and IBF world heavyweight titles. Mike Tyson wants to show the world that he still has it. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix.
There was a delay from the match planned for July that was caused by Tyson having a medical episode on a plane and needing time to recover from a stomach ulcer. The rules of the match are the rounds can only be two minutes long and the bout cannot go longer than eight rounds. Another big thing is the glove size. Tyson and Paul will wear 14oz gloves rather than the traditional 10oz gloves in professional boxing. Knockouts will be allowed and a winner will be announced at the end of the eight rounds.
I asked a few people their predictions on who they think will win and in what round they are going to win. Matthew Sebastian said, “I think Mike Tyson is going to win with a KO in the 3rd round.” Brandon Rocha stated, “I think Mike Tyson is too old and he is going to run out of stamina fast. Tyson hits hard but Jake is young and has more stamina. I think Jake is going to win in the 5th round.”
Jason Vasquez said “I think Mike Tyson is going to knock him out in the 2nd round because he can’t last long in all 8 rounds. I also think Mike Tyson wants to knock him out because a lot of people want to see that because many people don’t like Jake Paul.” Henry Gandara said “I think it’s going to be Jake winning in the 6th round. After all, Mike Tyson is old and will get tired fast.” Gabriel Fuentes said, “I think Mike Tyson is going to let him win. Mike is going to get paid off by Jake to win but they are going to make it seem like it is a real fight. So I have Jake winning in the 5th round.”
A quote from Tyson Fury tells MMA Hour: “If Mike Tyson hits anybody, I don’t care if he’s 90, he’s going to knock them out cold isn’t he? He’s Iron Mike Tyson, the baddest man on the planet. Jake Paul is very experienced now and has been in a lot of fights but obviously, I have to back Mike Tyson for the knockout as he always backs me.” We will see who is the better boxer.

I think the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight was disappointing. I expected more but was not surprised due to the age gap.

Mike Tyson was too old to be back in the ring, every time he would get hit he would lose his balance easily and his foot work was not there. The reason people are glazing is because his record gave him recognition and just because of that the people think he can still fight as good as when he was younger.

I personally think that Mike could’ve won just that his age held him back also knowing Jake’s age he obviously knew he had an advantage on movement. Tyson is getting old and worn out he obviously wouldn’t be able to fight how he used to when he was younger.

I think Mike Tyson Was destined to lose because of how old he was. He is 58 years old and most 58-year-olds are not in their prime. Even though I dislike Jake Paul it would make sense for him to win.

I think their fight was unfair because Mike Tyson was 58 years old and had many health conditions, while Jake Paul was still young. I believe that Jake Paul should call out real boxers and then we can determine if Jake Paul is a good boxer.

I think the fight itself was rigged as during training he was hitting hard and looked in good condition though when it came to the actual fight it seemed as though all of that training was for nothing. The fight between the two women Taylor and Serrano was more interesting than the actual main event.

I believe the fight was planned for entertainment to generate millions of dollars in revenue and last all 8 rounds to keep it running as much as possible unlike other people’s predictions stating it might last 2-5 rounds. After all if they really did purely fight without staging it, Jake Paul or Mike Tyson would’ve been knocked out very early.

While their both sides had solid reasons why one was believed to win, Jake Paul still ended up winning like everyone had speculated. Still no matter how much time or effort Tyson would’ve put into, aging was his biggest opponent and it really showed during those 8 rounds.

For what it was worth the under-card fights where good. Weather it was staged or not it was a cool thing to see Mike out there once again, he’ll always be one of the most viscous fighters known. Respect to both.

The Mike Tyson fight was a great opportunity to see Tyson back on his feet on that ring. The fight was hyped up and I’m sure many people had higher expectations and different outcomes. Many would say the fight was rather disappointing. I had hoped for better results but I did not come in with huge expectations. Tyson is old, worn out and simply does not have it in him anymore. I’m not surprised he lost; the outcome was obvious in my opinion.

I feel like the fight was kinda expected to come out like that but the reason why it was more disappointing was because he was in the hospital a month before the fight and he lost a lot of blood during that time not that I’m trying to make an excuse not only that bad his age is also something to consider.

I watched the live broadcast of the fight, most of the predictions they made in this article were true, especially the one where Gabriel Fuentes says that Mike Tyson would let Jake Paul win, the fight was a disappointment Mike Tyson is not what he was when he was young as the commentator said that retired fighters over 50 years old should think about it a few times because they only came to cause pity.

Even though Mike Tyson lost there may be some factors that resulted in this. Many people believed that Mike was paid to lose. For example, during the fight, he was throwing many hard punches. Then Jake went in for a hug as if it was a sign to lose, Mike tapped as if he agreed.
