Can you imagine a world without music? Nothing to dance to and no melodies to soothe your mind. Music is more than just a form of entertainment it manipulates your emotions in ways you don’t even realize. It shapes the way we as individuals are brought together from diverse backgrounds. Let’s dive in to explore the remarkable effects that music has on our minds and how it can help bring people together!
To recognize music’s impact on our emotions, we need to acknowledge music’s ability to mirror our feelings. Music shapes our moods, whether the music has a joyful beat that lifts our mood or a slow tune that highlights our sadness. In my first interview with Jennedy Herrera she stated, “I feel music has a huge effect on my emotions because whenever I am feeling sad, I put my music on and it helps me relax and think about the positives.” As you can see, music can help us get in touch with our emotions, and in this case even be comforting to a person.
I want to explore how music fosters connections among people. Think of an area where strangers are crowded together listening to music. For example, in a concert, people can be drawn together by a shared melody and grow a connection friends have, but how does music create such powerful connections? Music can carry feelings that others may have which allows people to connect over it whether it’s love or loss. To get a more personal look inside I asked a fellow SEMHS student, Valeria Torres, if she has ever bonded through music “Yes I have, and I believe music brings people together not only because they enjoy the same artist but because of the meaning the song may have.” our lives are shaped from our experiences in many ways and although we all might not be the same, music gives us a space where we are all connected.
Music serves as a universal language that fosters a deeper connection between people. So next time you put in your favorite song, remember it’s more than just lyrics—it is your emotions.

This article made me realize how much I need music in my life. Since I always listen to music when I’m studying or when I am just bored doing something I do believe that music does have a big impact on my life.

I agree the type of music we listen to will affects how we think and act. We are putting music into our brains. It can have a positive effect but as well as a negative effect.

I agree that music has a powerful way of shaping our emotions, like when someone uses it to relax and focus on the positive. It also connects people through shared meanings and experiences, whether at a concert or with friends. Music truly is a universal language that brings us together, transcending differences and helps you with whatever you are going through.

Music is a universal thing that we all find a sense in comfort with. It helps you mentally with whatever you’re going through and often at times there’s a song that perfectly encapsulates how you feel.

Music is diverse, there is a song for every mood. Everyone has different tastes and that’s what makes it fun. I love listening to the songs my friends recommend to me.
