The first teacher to be nominated this year is none other than Mr. David Morales. When he is not leading our marching band to victory, Mr. Morsales loves to spend time with his family. He has his hands full with a set of twin boys and he enjoys spending time with his wife. “I love working with kids”. This is what drives Mr. Morales to spend countless hours outside the classroom with his students. It is hard to believe that Mr. Morales has been here at South for 10 years. During this time he has made connections with Mrs. Cineceros and Mrs. Casas who both work in the front office.
His taste for food is as unique as his personality. “If I had to choose a food that I had to eat for the rest of my life it would be pizza and steak”. Now, there is a man who loves a balanced meal! He will have to eat a lot of carbs to keep up with Forrest Gump, which is his favorite movie. As a student, he was “quite” and “well behaved”. Mr. Morales attended Cathedral High School, which is located near Dodger Stadium. Attending an all-boys school is not much different than attending a coed public school, according to Mr. Morales.
His heroes are Kobe Byrant and Arnold Arnold Schwarzenegger. “He [Schwarzenegger] came from a small family and modest beginning. And he eventually became governor of California.” He hopes that he can inspire all his students to have a similar story to tell when they are older. He hopes that all his students “keep an open mind” and “always be willing to reevaluate [themselves]. Congratulations to Mr. Morales for being selected as the teacher of the month.

One of the best teachers I have had in my 4 years. It makes me happy that others think the same. He truly is great, and great at teaching.
