The first Eagle to be named staff of the month is none other than the amazing Karen de la Torre.  Most people already know that Mrs. De la Torre is a fantastic employee, but most don’t know that she was a student at South El Monte High School.  When asked what she likes about her job she states “It feels great to work with people that I already knew from when I was a student here; teachers and friends…[I like] serving my community”.

When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family which consists of two children and her husband.  Some of us look up to Spider-Man or Wonder Woman.  However, Mrs. De la Torre’s hero is her husband.  “He is our little family’s superhero! He came to the U.S. knowing no English at all. He has grown so much professionally and I’m super proud of him.”  It sounds like Mrs. De la Torre not only inspires the people who come across her desk at work but also at home.
